DOE AWARDS LGU-DAVAO CITY FOR EXEMPLARY ACHIEVEMENT AMONG ALL LGU-CITIES IN MINDANAO

The LGU-Davao City through the City Treasurer’s Office, was awarded by the Department of Energy-Mindanao Field Office last December 5, 2024, with a PLAQUE OF COMMENDATION for fuel governance excellence. A SPECIAL AWARD for the Local Government Unit (LGU) with over 80 Liquid Fuel Retailer Outlets (LRFOs) and Technology Solution Retail Outlets (TSFOs) in its jurisdiction, was given to the Local Government of Davao for its exemplary achievement among all LGU-Cities in Mindanao.

DAVAO CITY EMERGES AS THE TOP-PERFORMING LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNIT IN REGION XI

The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) – Regional XI Office has placed Davao City FIRST among all cities within Region XI for its local source revenues for FY2023. Davao City was also awarded FIRST place for its Ratio of Local Source Revenues to Total Current Operating Income for FY2023. Another award was also given to Davao City for its yearly growth in Local Source Revenues for FY2023.

The City Government of Davao, through the City Treasurer’s Office, was awarded as one of the National Top 10 Performing Cities in terms of Local Source Revenues in National Terms for the Fiscal Years 2022 and 2023.
About the City Treasurer’s Office
The City Treasurer’s Office is the collection arm of the City Government primarily responsible for revenue generation, custody and proper disbursement and management of the city’s funds, maintains and updates the tax information system, implements fully the City Revenue Tax Code and provides local and national policymakers vital information on matters relating to public finance. In 1901, by virtue of Act. No. 82 of the 2nd Philippine Commission, the municipal government of Davao was created. Davao City became a chartered city in 1937, the City Treasurer then played a multi-faceted role of an assessor, civil registrar, postmaster, general services officer and accountant. The office was established to effectively assist the City Government in its solid march towards becoming a progressive local government unit by developing comprehensive and systematic program for all real properties and business establishments in Davao City; exercising supervision and control over revenue intake, intensify tax enhancement and disbursement of public funds for continuous improvement towards greater productivity, competence and a more responsive service to constituents and help improve the quality of life for Davao City.
