The heads of the city’s 11 tribes and tourism institutions showed their support to the Philippine Halal Trade and Tourism Expo 2024 held on May 24, 2024, at the SMX Convention Center.

The expo showcased Halal products with international and domestic potential.

With “Resilience in the New Normal: The Impact of Halal Economy Worldwide” as its theme, the said expo tackled issues on halal manufacturing. The expo was also held to push for the growth and marketing of such products and help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

More or less 5,000 participants from all over the country gathered during the event to showcase their halal products.

Davao City Councilor Myrna Dalodo-Ortiz said in her speech that the City Government of Davao recognizes the importance of this year’s Philippine Halal Trade and Tourism Expo in Davao City.

“The City’s commitment to promoting Halal products and services will continue as we strive to establish Davao City as a beacon of Halal excellence in the country. We want to express our utmost appreciation to the Universal Islamic Center and the members of the Davao City Halal Industry Development Council for your unwavering support of the initiatives of the City Government of Davao for the Halal Industry.
