The City Government of Davao, through the Davao City Tourism Operations Office (DCTOO) on Sunday, unveiled the 87th Araw ng Davao Official Logo on the official Araw ng Dabaw Facebook Page.
DCTOO head Jennifer Romero, in an interview with Davao City Disaster Radio on Monday, said that the Araw ng Dabaw Logo received a good reception from the netizens when it was posted Sunday on the official channels.
“Napagawas na gyud nato finally atong official nga logo for the 87th araw ng Davao excited kaayo ta and happy ta sa reception sa netizens, kay happy pud sila nga nakita nila ang atong official logo sa Araw ng Davao (We were able to release our official logo for the 87th Araw ng Davao, we are very excited and happy for the reception of the netizens because they were also happy seeing the official logo),” Romero said.
She said that their office was given a directive to make the logo distinct from the Kadayawan logo.
“Based on the directive, dapat malain gyud siya and dili sya ma associate sa Kadayawan, as you would notice atong mga icons nga ginagamit gi-highlight nato ang City Hall, San Pedro Cathedral and Commemorative Monument of Peace (Based on the directive, it should be distinct and won’t be associated with the Kadayawan logo, as you would notice, the icons we used and highlighted were the City Hall, San Pedro Cathedral, and the Commemorative Monument of Peace),” she said.
She said that Davao City icons are not highlighted in this logo, however, they are placed as silhouettes of the design.
Romero said that this week they already have the date on hanging banners or tarpaulins bearing the logo around Davao City.
