The 30 Mutya candidates, who were able to share their advocacies during the second event of the 2024 Mutya ng Dabaw Competition last February 17, will face each other with their talent showcase on March 5.

Davao City Tourism and Operations Office Head Jennifer Romero said that the Talent Competition will be the third to the last event of the 2024 Mutya ng Davao.

“Naa pata’y naka-line up nga activities nga ilang atangan naa ta’y Talent Competition, naa pata’y preliminary competition as well and ang atong Coronation will be on March 15 sa USEP gym (We have activities lined-up to watch out for, these are the Talent Competition, we have the preliminary competition, and the Coronation, which will be on March 15 at the USEP Gym),” Romero said, after the media presentation of the 30 candidates on February 17 in a hotel here in Davao City.

In a separate interview on Monday, Romero that the Top 30 candidates will stay and compete in all the events before coronation night, where the Top 15 and Top 5 or the official winners will be announced.

She said that after the media presentation on Saturday, she saw huge potential in the candidates – both in beauty and wit.

“I am really happy because diverse ilang answers) their answers are diverse) and they can speak their minds. They are knowledgeable about all the things they are talking about. I must say that this set of 2024 Mutya are all competitive,” Romero said.

She said they are ensuring that all the pageant activities will become a real test for the candidates and that the winner deserves the crown.

“We’ll see to it nga ang Mutya ng Dabaw nga mu-evolve siya into a pageant [which is] not only [about] beauty but we are getting possible Mutya who can be an ambassadress sa Davao mao gyud na atong thrust (that is our thrust),” Romero said.

Romero said that they are also looking for a Mutya who can become an inspiration to all young ladies who would love to be part of the future Mutya ng Dabaw pageants.
