The City Government of Davao, through the City Economic Enterprises, has announced the opening of applications for the 16 square-meter area of the Sangguniang Panlungsod’s ground floor.
The announcement was posted on the City Government of Davao page on Tuesday.
“Only one coffee shop owner can occupy the said space,” the announcement reads.
The lobby is a gateway to various offices such as the City Treasurer’s Office, Business Bureau, City Assesor’s Office, and the Local Civil Registrar.
Former Davao City Vice Mayor and now newly-elected first district councilor J. Melchor Quitain Jr. made mention of the legislative body’s intention to convert the SP Lobby space into a coffee shop in a media interview on July 30, 2024.

The CEE, which is currently located on the 1st Floor of the Old City Health Building, will accept applications starting July 22, 2025, Tuesday, until July 29, 2025, from 9 am to 4 pm.
