The City Government of Davao, through the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) and in partnership with the Interfacing Development Initiatives Inc., is inviting
eligible groups to join the 2025 Lunhaw Awards
Eligible to join the environmental awards are individuals or groups – community-based organizations, schools, student organizations, private and business establishments, non-government agencies – including those with initiatives that previously won other awards except under the Lunhaw Awards.
The nominated initiative must be existing for at least two years.
The Official categories are pollution control, forest-based initiatives, rural and urban organic farming, energy and water conservation, marine resources management. education and advocacy, green building/urban greening.
The Special Categories for this year are the Search for Outstanding Environmental Advocates in Davao City for youth and adults; the Search for Outstanding Local Government Unit with Environmental Initiative (barangay-led); and Search for Establishments with permeable pavement design for parking spaces and walkways.
Judy Ann Legaspi, Watershed Network Coordinator of IDIS during the I-Speak Media forum held Thursday highlighted that the main purpose of the awards is to help replicate the green initatives of groups and individuals in the whole Davao City.
Cenro Environmental Waste Management Division Head Enr. Lakandiwa Orcullo, during the same forum, said that the application forms are also available at the City Agriculturist Office located at the Davao Food Terminal Complex (DFTC) in Barangay Daliao Toril, CENRO Office, CENRO Motorpool Compound in Barangay Maa, and the DACS Office at 413 Aghon and Champaca Sts. Juna Subdivision. The online application form is also posted on the Lunhaw Awards Page.
The application forms are required to be submitted to the IDIS Office, 2nd floor, ALMACEN Building, Barangay Catalunan Pequeno, Davao City.
