The Peace 911 office is calling on residents of Barangay Fatima in the Paquibato District to take advantage of a free medical mission on Friday.
Pamela Kent Chamen, Development Management Officer I of the Peace 911, in an interview over city-owned Davao City Disaster Radio, said that the free services include medical consultations, laboratory tests, eye care, dental services, family planning, and immunization programs.
There will also be nutrition counselling, pharmacy support, electrocardiogram (ECG), chest x-rays, ultrasounds for pregnant women, and operation tuli (circumcision).
“Naghatag pod si AFP og pahalipay gamay sa uban nga gusto magpa-haircut, naa sila i-offer nga free haircut services (AFP also gave a little treat to others who want a haircut, they are offering free haircut services),” she said.
She said that registration for the medical mission will be from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., ensuring that community members can participate.
She said this initiative is part of Peace 911’s activities for its 7th anniversary, with a subsequent medical mission planned in Marilog District on May 30.
Peace 911 operates under the City Mayor’s Office and was established in 2018 under then Mayor Sara Duterte. It serves as a peace-building initiatve designed not only to counter insurgent threats but also to bridge the gap in government services in the Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA).
Chamen emphasized that the core of the initiative is to show residents that government support is both accessible and dependable.
“Mao na nga namugna ang Peace 911 para mapahibalo sa ilaha nga naa gyod ang gobyerno nga mag-assist sa ilaha (That’s why Peace 911 was created to let them know that the government is there to assist them),” she said. CIO
