The City Government of Davao, through the City Health Office’s Population Division, continues to offer free No-Scalpel Vasectomy (NSV) service to Dabawenyos every last Friday of the month.

For this month, free NSV service is scheduled on May 30 at the Buhangin Vasectomy Center.

NSV is one of the permanent family planning methods offered by the CHO for families who no longer wish to have more children.

It is a non-invasive procedure which lasts for 10–15 minutes, and requires minimal aftercare. It also poses lesser risks compared to Bilateral-Tubal Ligation, and has a 99.85 percent effectiveness rate.

As of April 2025, the CHO’s Population Division was able to cater to 63 clients who availed of their free NSV service.

Dabawenyos who no longer wish to have more children are encouraged to consider getting NSV.

The CHO also offers other forms of both permanent and temporary family planning methods. These are available at the district health centers. Dabawenyos only have to go to the CHO’s population division to know the details on these family planning methods.

Dabawenyos may also contact the City Population Office through their Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/CityPopulationOfficeOfDavao); or email them at citypopulationofficeofdavao@gmail.com; or visit their main office located in Camus St., Davao City.

Interested Dabawenyos who wish to avail of the free NSV service may also call or text the City Population Office at 09952024680 for more information. CIO
