The City Government of Davao has allotted P124 million for its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Program aimed at providing essential aid to individuals and families facing financial difficulties.

The AICS program includes medical assistance, burial support, transportation help, educational assistance, food provisions and cash relief.

Julie Dayaday, Officer-in-Charge of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), told Madayaw Davao on Monday that AICS is given to those who genuinely need help.

“Dili man ni siya tubag nga makasulbad sa problema pero at least makatabang, nga gikan gyod sa syudad nga pondo. Naa gyod ni siya’y budget every year (The program does not entirely resolve financial hardships but it serves as immediate support funded by the city government. It has a dedicated budget allocated yearly),” she said.

Dayaday explained that beneficiaries can receive a maximum assistance of P5,000, depending on their needs. To qualify, applicants undergo assessment by social workers to ensure they meet the criteria for receiving aid.

She said the payout process for AICS began in the Poblacion District on February this year, with distributions in Calinan, Tugbok, Toril, and Buhangin on April 21, and Marilog, Paquibato, Bunawan, and Baguio on April 22.

She also encouraged Dabawenyos to apply only if they are genuinely in crisis, as the program focuses on those most in need. Dabawenyos seeking aid under AICS should proceed to their respective district offices for evaluation. CIO
