The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) said on Monday that it will participate in the Solo Parent Week, which will take place from April 21 to April 24, 2025.
Karla Quintela, Focal Person of the CSWDO Solo Parent Social Welfare Operation Division, told Davao City Disaster Radio that the CSWDO will be part of the help desk services for solo parents at SM Lanang.
“Karong 23, ang CSWDO, kami po ang mulingkod didto. Ang taga-didto or pabor sa SM Lanang, pwede mi maka-share sa amoang services (On April 23, the CSWDO will be manning the help desk. Those living near SM Lanang can come and avail of our services.”),” she said.
She noted that the help desk will be open during mall hours.
Quintela also emphasized that the Solo Parent Week is observed in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
This year’s theme for the Solo Parent Week is “Solo Parent na registrado sa gobyerno, tiyak na suportado.”
Through this initiative, Quintela said the CSWDO aims to inform solo parents about the city’s existing programs, such as the Subsidy for Solo Parents, psychological interventions, and other support services.
As of April 21, 2025, there are approximately 6,000 registered solo parents in the city. CIO
