In a bid to ensure Dabawenyos have access to both local and national government services, the City Government of Davao has been conducting caravans of services in various barangays in the city.
The Barangayan Serbisyo Publiko (BSP), along with the Barangay Caravan of Government Services, is a flagship program of the City Government of Davao since 2022.
In 2025, the BSP and the caravan of government services were merged as one, visiting two barangays every day.
From January 14 to March 20 this year, the BSP went to 41 barangays serving 19,108 Dabawenyos.
“In the barangay level, the caravans helped constituents save time, money and effort in travelling to the various offices where these different government agencies were situated, especially to the people who have limited resources,” Maida Saez, BSP’s Deputy Project-in-Charge, said in an interview.
She added that the caravans allowed Dabawenyos to avail of different government services in a single day without having to travel from one office to another.
“There is also an efficient coordination among participating offices should a need to refer from one office to another arise, since the representatives are already there at the venue when referred to by another office,” Saez said.
The City Government of Davao continues to implement programs and projects that will ensure every Dabawenyo have access to the right services as well as ensure the sustainable development of both the city and its people. CIO
