The University of the Philippines Mindanao (UPMin) officially turned over the Rabies Dashboard (RabDash) to the Davao City Veterinarian’s Office (CVO) on March 7.
The dashboard will serve as a more systematic monitoring system of the CVO’s interventions to eliminate rabies.
Dr. Maria Corazon Sepulveda, CVO’s Head, said in an interview with the City Information Office that the RabDash will be a big help for CVO in documenting the data of their rabies prevention programs.
“Makatulong ito sa atin sa pag-monitor ng ating mga interventions to eliminate rabies (The dashboard is a helpful tool in monitoring our interventions to eliminate rabies),”she said.
Through the RabDash, data from the CVO’s anti-rabies programs such as its mass vaccination activities, castration, and Information Education Campaigns can be efficiently and systematically documented.
The CVO will also be able to efficiently track and monitor possible cases of rabies, as well as further improve its interventions to achieve its goal of zero rabies in the city.
Currently, the CVO is also working with UPMin in creating a module for students about rabies and responsible pet ownership.
The CVO continues to urge Dabawenyos to practice responsible pet ownership and have their pets vaccinated.
The CVO offers free anti-rabies vaccination in its district offices and in its main office located at the 2nd floor of the City Hall Annex.
Dabawenyos may visit the CVO’s Official Facebook Page: City Veterinarian’s Office-Davao City, or call them at 225-3050 for more details. CIO
