The city government’s online platform for the Lingap para sa Mahirap program continuously provides financial assistance to underprivileged Dabawenyos, serving 2,840 clients in 2024.
From January to February this year, the Lingap online platform has served 366 clients. The online platform enables residents to request assistance without physically visiting the office.
Joan Paralisan, Team Leader of the Online Lingap, said they cater to Dabawenyos who need assistance for their hospital and funeral bills, dialysis treatment, and medical and laboratory procedures.
“Kung unsay serbisyo sa mga naga-walk-in sa private desk, mao pod ang mga serbisyo nga ginahatag online. Ang nakalahi lang is si online, ginapasa ang requirements online (The services offered online are the same to those offered to walk-in customers at the private desk. The only difference is that the requirements are submitted online),” Paralisan said in an interview with the city-owned Davao City Disaster Radio.
She said Dabawenyos may send their requirements to the Lingap para sa Mahirap official Facebook Page for them to process it in advance.
“Halimbawa wala pa nigawas ang ilahang hospital bill, una nila i-send ang kato’ng uban pa nga mga documents then i-follow na lang nila ang uban, then ma-process na dayon namo [ang assistance] (For instance, their hospital bill hasn’t arrived yet, they can send us the other documents first, then they just send the other documents for us to process the assistance right away),” she said.
She also encouraged Dabawenyos to have their requirements digitally scanned before submitting these to the Lingap.
“Mas gina-encourage namo ang scanned copy kay kung through picture lang nga i-send nila via messenger, dili namo mabasa ang requirements (We encourage using scanned copies since we won’t be able to read the requirements clearly if they submit them as pictures),” she said.
She said online transactions are completed in five to ten minutes.
She also urged Dabawenyos to use the platform to decongest the Lingap offices. The online platform caters to clients from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Aside from online platform, the Lingap program has satellite offices in Calinan, Marilog, Toril, Bunawan, Paquibato, and Almendras Gymnasium compound.
