The Davao City Civil Registrar’s Office (CCRO) on February 18 conducted an enhancement training on civil registration to its staff and hospital and funeral parlor clerks in Davao City.

The training, held at the Sanggunian Panlungsod, was conducted in celebration of the 35th Civil Registration Month.

Shirley Arendain, Registration Officer IV of the CCRO, said the session was aimed at training the staff and clerks who are in frontline service of the Local Registry Offices.

She said the participants were provided with the right information, particularly about updates to the key components of civil registration. The training is a component of the Local Registrar’s Office’s ongoing information education program to better equip staff members, improve their abilities, and increase the system’s overall effectiveness in civil registration.

“Sila man gud ang naga prepare kana nga mga documents. Dapat ma-inform sila unsa ang mga updates, ma-remind unsay dapat buhaton labina sa pag-prepare labinag birth certificate (They are the ones who prepare the documents. They should be updated on developments and reminded of their responsibilities, particularly with regard birth certificates),” she said.

She said over 60 participants attended the session.

She said there is also a Mall Tour at the SM Ecoland starting Monday until Sunday. The CCRO has set up a desk at the Mall to address Dabawenyos’ queries, especially on their birth registration, marriage registration, and other civil registration services.

For concerns, queries, and further information on the registration processes, Dabawenyos may reach out to the Civil Registration Office located at the Ground Floor of the Sanggunian Panlungsod, or contact them through 241-1000 Local 364/365 or email them at lcr@davaocity.gov.ph. CIO
