The City Government of Davao has turned over vehicles to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) to improve its disaster assistance and strengthen peace and order measures.

Five units of disaster response trucks, four units of 4×4 vehicles, and
four units of fiber boats were received by the DCPO on December 27, 2024.

In his message read during the turnover ceremony, Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte encouraged the recipients to use the vehicles properlu and fulfill the shared mission of safeguarding lives and protecting properties in Davao City

DCPO Spokesperson P/Major Hazel Tuazon told Madayaw Davao that they were grateful for the vehicles.

“Ang DCPO nagapasalamat og dako sa halangdong mayor and sa LGU sa walay puas nga pagsuporta sa
DCPO (The DCPO is thankful to our honorable mayor and to the LGU for the unwavering
support to the DCPO),” Tuazon said on behalf of Acting DCPO Chief Col. Hansel Marantan. .

She said that the five units of disaster response trucks will be a huge help in the conduct of search and rescue operations of the 19 police stations in Davao City, as well as the Fire Resistance Team, during disasters.

“Ang 4×4 magamit siya sa adlaw-adlaw nga roving sa area of responsibility and makatabang sa strong presence of police visibility especially sa mga areas with recorded cases (The 4×4 vehicels will be used in the daily roving activities and can help in ensuring the strong presence of the police, especially in areas with recorded cases),” Tuazon said.

She also added that the fiber boats will be used by the City Mobile Force Company that secures the sea and shoreline areas.

Tuazon added that the DCPO looks forward to the continued partnership with the city government to ensure the city’s safety and security. CIO
