The 20th Davao City Council approved the plan for the continuity of public services amid disasters, incidents, and complex emergencies.

The council approved under suspended rules on November 12, 2024 the Davao City Public Service Continuity plan.

Davao City Councilor Diosdado Mahipus Jr., the proponent of the DCPSP, explained the importance of the plan during the Aprubado sa Konseho media forum on Tuesday.

“This plan will be our guide as to how to continue the operations of the city in cases of complex emergencies that would really hamper the operations of our government” Mahipus said

“We have a Continuity Core Team, headed by the local chief executive, the City Mayor, and the team is composed of the different offices, the departments of the city,” Mahipus said.

Mahipus added that the functions and tasks of CCT members are assigned under the DPSCP, including their essential and non-essential functions.

Meanwhile, Mahipus said that the plan is not implemented for a specific duration only, which means that it is a document that can be used anytime as needed.

Mahipus said that their committee continues to support disaster prevention policies and programs in partnership with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).CIO
