The City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) announced that the traffic rerouting is all set for the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls Day on November 1 and 2.

PMaj. Leonardo Pamplona (Ret.), Acting Division Head of the CTTMO, said they will implement the “Oplan Kaluluwa 2024″ traffic plan ahead of the expected road congestion.

He said various reroutes will be put in place on November 1 and 2 to guarantee a controlled and secure traffic flow in cemeteries.

“We’ve been doing this since before noong nagkaroon tayo ng (when we had the) pandemic. And then when the pandemic ended, here we are again. So, we have to lay down our plan to give the general public a smooth flow of traffic,” he said.

He said there will be a soft deployment of personnel on October 30.

“We will only maximize our deployment on November 1 and 2, and again on November 3, we will continue to deploy our personnel, but soft deployment only,” he said.

He said they will be providing a rerouting map to the media on Wednesday.

The map will indicate the areas allowed for parking.

“In that map, naa na didto tanan ang mga guidelines nga asa ka muagi, asa ang mga roads nga i-close nato para di ta magkaroon ng traffic congestion (In that map, it contains the guidelines where you can go, where are the roads that we will close so that we will not have a traffic congestion),” he said.

“Kasi we have to implement kini ju’ng sa illegal parking. Kay if we will not implement kining sa illegal parking sigurado ang atoang kalsada magka-buhol-buhol (We need to implement this rule against illegal parking because if we do not implement this, our road will surely become congested),” he added.

He said a total of CTTMO 600 personnel will be deployed.

“Anyway we have our counterparts, we have the PNP, we have the Auxiliaries, and we have also multipliers,” he said.

“We will also have deployment sa (to) other cemeteries except for those remote areas. Halimbawa (For example), somewhere in Marilog [and] Baguio. Wala nata’y deployment diha sa CTTMO. However, there are PNP nga naga-cover sa mga areas (that will cover these areas) that will take care of the traffic situation in these remote areas,” he said. CIO
