The Davao City Council called upon the Police Regional Office XI (PRO XI) for the prompt and unbiased resolution of the investigation on the relieved 35 Davao City Police Office (DCPO) officials and non-commissioned officers, including City Police Director PCol. Richard Bad-ang during the 20th regular session of the 20th City Council.
The relieved DCPO personnel have committed to ensuring the peace and order of the city, and have performed their sworn duty to serve and protect not only Dabawenyos but also those who visit the city with utmost diligence.
In a resolution supporting the statement of the City Mayor condemning the sudden removal of the 35 DCPO personnel, the City Council echoed the call of the mayor for transparency and accountability in handling the case.
The City Mayor also said in a statement released on May 26 that the actions taken against the DCPO personnel “contradicts the spirit of cooperation and mutual trust crucial for effective governance and law enforcement.” CIO
