In line with the 34th Civil Registration Month, the City Civil Registration Office (CCRO) is holding a civil registration mall tour in two big malls in the city.
The mall tour will run from February 12 to February 18 at SM Lanang and SM Ecoland.
Ms. Leslie Lagare, CCRO’s Mobile Registration Head, said in an interview with the City Information Office (CIO) that during the mall tours, Dabawenyos may avail of their services including birth registration, marriage registration, and other civil registration services.
“Ang amoang mga services diri, pwede mo mangutana sa amoa unsa ang mga requirements sa birth certificate, kung mang-apply sad og kasal unsa ang mga requirements, pagtransfer sa apelyido katong mga anak nga apelyido pa sa mama pwede sad namo na i-cater, pwede pud mo mag request og PSA diri [We cater to queries regarding the requirements for birth certificate, requirements for marriage registration, we also cater to queries on how to transfer or change the surname of children who are still bearing the surname of their mother. We also cater to PSA requests],” she said.
Judelyn Decalit, an employee of SM Lanang who availed of the services provided by the CCRO, said that through the activity, the CCRO made civil registration convenient for Dabawenyos as they no longer needed to go to the office for their concerns and requests.
Meanwhile, the CCRO will also be conducting a mobile registration drive in Tamayong on February 20, and in Mapula on February 22.
In addition to the civil registration agents that will cater to clients during the mobile registration, trained Barangay Civil Registration Agents (BACRA), School Civil Registration Agents (SCRA), and Indigenous Peoples Civil Registration Agents (IPCRA) will also be participating in the activity to further ensure that all members of the community who wish to avail of the CCRO’s services will be catered.
Miss Shirley Arendain, Registration Officer IV of the CCRO, said during the ISpeak Media Forum on February 8 that the CCRO has trained 15 IPCRAs. Arendain shared that the IPCRAs have been a huge help in aiding members of the IP in their civil registration needs.
Lagare also emphasized that the birth registration of those who are born in the city is free. Dabawenyos are urged to practice timely registration and are encouraged to reach out to the CCRO for their concerns, queries, and requests. CIO
