The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) reported that only 218 families affected by flood and mass wasting remained in evacuation centers as of 12 pm of February 5, 2024.
The CSWDO said 178 of them are staying at evacuation centers in Tigatto, seven families in Waan, and 33 in Marilog District.
“Sa atoang evacuation area, since daghan ang mga district nga naapektuhan–thank God gamay nalang ang naa sa evacuation area (In our evacuation areas, since many districts were affected, thank God, only a few remains in the evacuation area),” CSWDO Bunawan District head Mary Ann Ababon said in an interview with Davao City Disaster Radio on Monday afternoon.
Based on the CSWDO data, the floods during the previous week affected 37, 743 families, and mass wasting affected 267 families.
The flood-affected districts were Bunawan, Poblacion, Talomo, Buhangin, Tugbok, Baguio and Paquibato.
The landslides affected the districts of Marilog, Calinan, and Paquibato District.
Since February 4, the CSWDO already distributed provisions and other welfare goods to the affected families. CIO
