Byaheng Do30 has received a special citation under the Best News Magazine Program category at the 42nd Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) held virtually on December 19, 2020.
The local public affairs program produced by the Davao City Information Office (CIO), in partnership with GMA Davao was also one of the finalists in the Best Public Service Program category.
CMMA was established by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila and has been recognizing excellence in mass media since 1978, through socially responsible journalism and value-laden programs for the development of the Filipino audience.
“The CMMA citation is a validation not only of the hard work of the people behind the program but of the entire Davao City Government headed by Mayor Sara and the Dabawenyos,” said Chief Information Officer Jefry Tupas.
In 2019, Byaheng Do30 was also chosen as one of the seven finalists in the Best TV Adult/Cultural Program category.
Already in its fourth year, Byaheng DO30 is a television show that highlights the initiatives of the Davao City government focusing on Mayor Inday Sara Duterte’s priority projects and programs to address her 10 priorities – poverty alleviation, infrastructure development, solid waste management, health, education, agriculture, tourism, transportation planning and traffic management, peace and order, and disaster risk and mitigation.
“The program continues to strive to be better in delivering not only the facts to the Dabawenyos but also the right information and news that inspire people and communities in Davao City and the region,” Tupas said.
Byaheng Do30 is aired on Sundays from 8 AM to 9 PM on GMA Regional TV and has viewership in Mindanao and abroad through GMA’s PinoyTV. CIO
