Four (4) city government personnel are terminated after allegedly consuming intoxicating drinks despite the implementation of the Liquor Ban until January 31, 2020.
Angel Sumagaysay, Head of the Public Safety and Security Command Center (PSSCC) said the incident took place on January 2, 2021 at the Bolton Elementary School, the staging area for the Rapid Action Team (RAT).
Lemuel Ortonio, Chief of the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) said that the four are all job order personnel assigned at the Rapid Action Team (RAT) from various offices.
“The Office of the City Mayor received a report, containing photos of city government employees with a beer bottle. An investigation was already conducted and HRMO has already prepared a termination memo for these individuals,” Ortonio said.
The HR Chief said that erring plantilla employees undergo review and conference with the Investigating Committee of the HRMO, while violating JO or Contract of Service personnel are terminated immediately.
Ortonio added that the city government does not tolerate erring employees as they should serve as an example of a law-abiding Dabawenyo.
“We do not tolerate this kind of behavior, especially from Davao city government personnel. Since we are in the public service, we should be the ones to uphold the laws being implemented by the city,” he said.
Previously, the city government has apprehended 14 employees of the City Engineer’s Office (CEO) for having a drinking-spree inside the Motor Pool compound last December despite the ban on liquor. CIO
