Republic of the Philippines
City of Davao
OFFICE OF THE CITY MAYOR |
Davao City has been gaining national and
international acclaim, awards, and recognitions
for the past 10 years. Most recently, our City
topped the rankings in the Philippine Cities
Competitiveness survey conducted by the Asian
Institute of Management and the Department of
Trade & Industry.
The “Most Competitive Metro-City” award is of
prime significance since result was based on
criteria that included indicators such as cost
of living, quality of life, infrastructure,
quality of human resources, linkages and
accessibility, dynamism of local economy, and
responsiveness of the local government units.
This latest development shall usher in a new
wave of business confidence in the City. Surely.
But we do not rest on our laurels. Obviously,
there are still lots of things to be done. We do
not blow the whistle for rest. Rather, we
continue and strive harder to make the quality
of life better.
Progress and development shall take place only
when the most important factor is present – that
is peace and order. As I have pronounced
repeatedly and I will stress that again here -
my campaign for Peace and Order will always be
on top of my agenda. The rest of the thrusts and
programs shall follow suit.
We will see to it that our march towards
sustainable growth and development will go
unhampered by ensuring that all possible and
executable measures in safeguarding peace and
order are being done 24 hours a day.
I firmly believe that we will enjoy peace and
harmony in Davao only when you join me in my
campaign. Together, let us make our City a home
for peace, progress, and prosperity. |
