City Government of Davao's Statement on the grenade-throwing incident at Paquibato District

C O N D E M N A T I O N

WE, condemn in the strongest terms the grenade throwing incident last September 1, 2012 at Brgy. Fatima, Paquibato District, Davao City. This attack on the lives of Dabawenyos who were celebrating a religious fiesta reflects the Godless nature of the perpetrators. This despicable act is inexcusable and reflects the terrorizing evil that these perpetrators want to sow in Davao City. This is in direct contravention to the mandate of Government for all inclusive progress and development.

WE, call on the Davao City Police Office and the Armed Forces of the Philippines to do everything in their capacity to give justice to the forty-five civilians who were injured and the hundreds of Dabawenyos who suffered mental anguish, by solving the case in a speedy and judicious manner;

WE, call on the same authorities to do all that is humanly possible to protect Paquibato District and its contiguous areas from lawless armed groups who threaten, deliberately injure and kill civilians, who plunder and appropriate for themselves the possessions of the residents of Paquibato and its adjacent areas. These criminals who hide behind the unlawful use of guns and weapons should finally be laid to extinction, once and for all;

WE, demand peace and we extend our hands in peace to those who want to clear their conscience from these kinds of atrocities against their fellow human beings;

WE DEMAND PEACE.
